Group Class – Red Panther (Fitness)
This programming is geared towards anybody and everybody and will be challenging for everyone whether you are someone who has no background in exercise or whether you are reasonably fit. These workouts are designed to promote and enhance your health and fitness. You will be exposed to a wide variety of movements, from squats to kettle-bell swings to push-ups and pull-ups and many more. As we do in all of our classes, there will be a focus on safety and proper mechanics. The workouts are great for beginners because they focus on movement quality before intensity. These workouts are not just for beginners, and like all of our workout options, these workouts are scalable and can be made as difficult as one wants.
Group Class – Blue Panther (Performance)
This programming is geared towards those individuals looking to take their CrossFit workouts and strength and conditioning to a new level. Here the workouts will include a greater degree of intensity and complexity. You’ll be exposed to, amongst other things, more complex gymnastic movements and Olympic lifting. The goal with the performance program is to make you stronger, faster and fitter by challenging you with more technical and complex movements that require a larger degree of skill and practice. Anyone and everyone can get to this level of CrossFit – it will just require that you get some exposure to the right movement mechanics in the Red Panther programme first before moving onto the Blue Panther programme.
Black Panther (Competitor or Elite Athlete)
This programme is not yet running on a group basis. This programme is for experienced CrossFit athletes and has an element of individual programming aimed at targeting an athlete’s specific strengths and weaknesses. It is for members who want to challenge themselves that much more and possibly make “CrossFit” their sport of choice. This programming is tailored for any CrossFit athlete who wants to take CrossFit seriously and compete in the CrossFit regionals or CrossFit games. Please enquire with us directly if you are interested in this option. At this stage there are additional costs involved because of the individualised nature of the programme and coaching.
Personalised 1-on-1
We offer personalised 1-on-1 programming for people with any level of fitness. This is typically for people who cannot make our regular classes because of other commitments. Where possible we always encourage our members to join the CrossFit group classes. A large part of what makes CrossFit so cool is the community and support that one feels when training in a group setting.
CrossFit Endurance
On an adhoc basis we run specific endurance classes at Black River CrossFit together with the occasion running workshop. Leon Gazet Du Chattelier is a certified CrossFit level 1 coach as well as a CrossFit Endurance coach and will change the way you approach your training for any type of endurance event!
